In 2015, the Southmont Schools Board of Trustees embarked on an ambitious and agressive journey to provide our students, staff and community with the best facilities possible. Working with Fanning Howey Architectural and Engineering firm, a plan was developed to address the safety, security, efficiency and operational areas of all of our school facilities. This project will provide a turf surface on the existing football field to offer more teams the opportunity to use the facility throughout the year.
This project will replace the roofs on the High School and Junior High gym roofs.
This project will provide appropriate administration office space for district leadership, while also freeing space at Southmont Junior High for the expected transfer of sixth grade classes to that building beginning SY 2018-2019.
This project will address various interior improvements, including renovation of restrooms and locker rooms for increased privacy and better airflow; site improvements, including rearrangement of athletic fields, additional parking, and new/more efficient outdoor lighting; security concerns, including an upgraded surveillance system; CTE additions and renovations; and renovation of the old central office and two classrooms into a 6th grade wing.

This project will provide an open-air remodel to the high school cafeteria, providing a large group instruction area on the north end, and staired seating area and mezzanine on the south end, and remodeled restrooms.
