NMES Upcoming Events and Help Needed

Here is a review of events going on as well as areas we need help:

Friday, December 14 - Ugly (or pretty) Christmas Sweater/Hat Day!  Don’t miss out on this fun day.  We are collecting $1 per child to go toward supporting New Market community needs.  Everyone is encouraged to wear a Christmas Sweater and/or hat on Friday as well as donate $1 toward our fund which goes to families in need in our community.  Should be lots of fun!

Tuesday, December 18 – Join us for our Christmas Program and School Rededication Ceremony.  The event begins with a ribbon cutting ceremony (on the stage) at 6:30 PM.  Students should report to their classroom between 6:00 -6:15 PM.  Doors will open at 5:45 PM.  There will be a school-wide art show too!  We are encouraging everyone to bring a canned food item that evening as well.

Thursday, December 20 – Classroom Christmas Parties – contact classroom teachers if you need more information on how you can help.

Friday, December 21- Polar Express Day! – Everyone at New Market participates in Polar Express Day!  Kids can wear pajamas.  Shoes should be worn to and from school for outside use.  This day ends with a Teacher/5th grade Snowball Fight!  Oh yah!

Needed –We need volunteers for our Back To School Celebration on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.  Our PTO generously provides multiple inflatable bounce houses and we need parent volunteers all day long!  Each grade level plays/jumps for 35 minutes.   Here is a link if you can volunteer!!!  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd9EQeuAWpSBOGkmwgvKXhGUrGC8KDgAovJndxHyud126EE8g/viewform?usp=sf_link .  If you cannot reach this link, reply to this email or contact the office.

Needed – Our nurse’s office is in need of elastic waist pants (boys and girls – all sizes).  If you have any gently used or new elastic waist pants you would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate it!

Needed – Canned Food donations!  The Yountsville Orthodox Church has opened a new Food Bank and needs our help to stock the shelves.  Please help by sending in canned or dry goods to school.  You may also bring them to our Christmas program.  Thank you!

That’s it for today!  Wishing you Joy this Season!!!
